Recently, the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) hosted their annual Legislative Visit Day at the California State Capital in Sacramento. As acting ACEC State President, Guida’s President, Ralph Guida IV, led the charge on initiatives such as surveying and engineering scholarships, project recognition, and legislative bills that relate to our field. The event brings together engineering firms, surveying firms, and local constituents who share the same goal of supporting and defending our profession. The event also includes a day of scheduled meetings with local legislators to create the opportunity for attendees to personally convey feelings on bills and laws on which they will be voting. The interaction with legislators can be both rewarding and effective for all.

Guida management and business development team members all make an effort to actively participate and hold memberships with not only ACEC, but other industry-related associates like CLSA, WTS, and CMAA, just to name a few. Each group offers unique perspectives on how to improve and actively participate in the future of our industry. These groups can positively affect change our industry workload, staff, and various other transportation-funded opportunities. If you are interested in participating in any industry-related association or event, please feel free contact your supervising manager for further discussion.
