Last month, several members of the Guida team attended the annual ACEC Leadership Training and Board of Directors meeting that took place at Westin Long Beach. The ACEC State Board meeting, which took place from the 24th through the 26th, is held four times a year throughout California. By holding quarterly meetings, ACEC provides a convenient place for members to have a dialogue with the committee chairs and directors about concerns, upcoming events, or various issues that they may wish to discuss. This month’s meeting was particularly special for the Guida team, as company president, Ralph Guida IV, is “passing the gavel” on to the new state president, Gary Antonucci. This past year, Ralph has served as the ACEC’s State President, representing California both in-state and nationally throughout America, working towards the important initiatives to promote the growth of our industry and profession.
During the Leadership Training portion of the event on July 24th, ACEC provided online webinars, reference manuals, and association contracts for incoming chapter and state leaders. Events like these are meant to help guide the ACEC’s future treasurers, representatives, and committee chairs to prepare them for a transition into a leadership role. On July 25th, the Federal Political Action Committee (PAC) held a fundraising event onboard the Queen Mary, where the PAC raised funds to support legislative action to promote growth of the industry. The event even featured a local “ghost encounter tour” to entertain attendees. Guida’s time with the ACEC is just getting started and we look forward to maintaining our relationship in the future as we continue to hone our skills and expand the Guida team!
